Jallianwala Bagh reminds the humanity of one of the worst massacres the world has ever witnessed . On April 13, 1919 , Reginald Dyer , the British Army Brigadier , ordered his soldiers to fire on thousands of unarmed people who had gathered for a protest meeting against the oppressive policies pursued by the then British Government against the Indians . In this mad shooting spree it is believed that over 1000 innocent people lost their lives. The number of the wounded people stood at an alarming figure of 2000. The bullet marks of this brazen act of General Dyer can still be seen on the walls of the Park .
The Wagah Border between India and Pakistan is a great place to visit in the evening for the flag lowering ceremony by the soldiers of both the nations .The overnight stay is at the Hotel.
5th Day : Amritsar-Chandigarh Immediately after the sumptuous breakfast on the fifth day , the tourists proceeds to the Union Territory of Chandigarh . This city which is renowned world over for its amazing architectural structures and incredible landscape.
