Some Testimonies and Anecdotes

Mrs. Carolyn Harris carolharris@iinet.net.au
Our driver Mr. Kanwar Singh is an excellent driver. He is a very safe driver and knows his way around all the places we visited. He has been very kind to us and has shown us many things which were not on tour itinerary. He has been very punctual and attentive to our needs and has arranged things with the guides required. He also knows some good places to eat in different towns and where to buy things. As regards the hotels….. most of them were nice although 8 of them had building work of some kind in progress and so were noisy during the day time. The royal Residency is not a very clean hotel although it is reasonably priced for being in Agra ,Kumbhal castle, kumbalgarh is also not very clean and the rooms are not very great –however they may be building nice ones as part of their hotel expansion I would not recommend this hotel. Killa bhawan, Bassi fort and Umaid Mahal were all very nice places to stay cos they had more personal atmosphere since they are family buisenesses. Lalgarh Palace and plalce hotel, Mt. Abu and Bassi Fort all gave us suite since they had ery few guests which was very nice of them. As regards the guides: The guide we had in Agra I would not recommend he took us to places which were lying and trying to cheat us.This kind of behavior would affect badly your company if tourists are cheated. We accept that guides and drivers are paid commission by the shop owners as their wages are rather low. But this should na mean cheating tourists is acceptable. Our guide in Jaipur was also not very happy that we did not go shopping. The guides we had in Jaiselmer ,Jodhpur and Udaipur were all very good and I would recommend them (also the guide in Mandwa). We both very much enjoyed our tour through Rajasthan and think that everything worked very well the car and driver , the hotels and the itinerary . the only thing I had not realized was quite how long it can take to drive between places in India due to the traffic and road conditions. Having kanwar Singh as our driver really made the trip more enjoyable. The only bad experience was the trip to the Khuri sand dunes. I think the place we went to is some what disorganized and I would definitely NOT recommended to anyone.

29.8.04 Finally I had the holiday I had always dreamt for !!Going around a country with a guide to explain traditions, culture and history is simply GREAT!! Gautam will be your guide, your philospher and friend! It is true that he is always smiling…….but not only that he is also very very funny! Ask him to explain how Gandhi walked “Totally fast with his stick throughout India, ……..tuck……tuck…..tuck – totally fast”. Ask him to listen to some music and to suggest you what to eat. Go with him walking around and enjoy the dandy view of Himalayas! ………and take care of him……..because he is really nice!CIAO, Gautam! Thank you for the great time!

As it always happens with the best things in life, we cannot have enough! We started by hiring you for only six days and a quick Rajasthan tour within our big trip, but we ended up with you for all the remaining 16 days of our holiday, wishing to have more. Now people may think this was the clever and astute maneuvering of a good salesman. Nothing farther from the truth. Mr Roy “little bear” never pushed in any way, unlike most of the people we met before him. All his suggestions were for our own benefit and, skeptical as I am, in the first days, we lost the occasion to listen to him. Do so, and trust him, as he is really there to help you with his big heart, such as when we were sick and he went off to buy some special herbal Indian magic-stuff for us and take care of me on my bedside. This man is of a kind that is difficult to find anywhere. He really cares for his guests who he considers as family and friends. But…..too much talking, let’s have some good memories and examples. The surprise visit to the country-side in Ranakpur was one of the best things we did. It was not in my plans, but we could already trust Gautam enough to follow him. Visiting villages and Indians from the country-side, with someone talking for you and being able to understand each other was an experience that no backpackers would do. And what about those cooking lessons…..other great things, the guesthouse in Jodhpur, owned by the gentle professor who was so nice to talk to. The food at the dhabas’, always a little bit adjusted by Gautam to suit our tastes. And the few times we wanted to splash out and stay in top hotels (twice we did it….), never a complaint from Gautam ! He always agreed to our crazy ideas! Tired of desert. O.K. let’s whip the Contessa (our car) to the Himalayas……and then to the Sacred Ganga…. Man, you’re a star, and we really really wish you the best with your little business because no one deserves it more than you do. See you next time in your beloved Bengal. With love. Mr. Debajyoti Aichbhaumik daich_98@yahoo.com
Dear Gautam Roy, This Rajasthan trip with you organized for us was one of the best we had in recent years. Both myself and my wife Karabi are very keen travelers. We have traveled in more than 50 countries of the world and Rajasthan trip will be one of the gems in that list. Thank you very much for organizing such a beautiful trip for us. Everything was very professional, yet with a good bit of personal touch. There were, of course, some small things those could be avoided to make the things perfect – but then again there is nothing perfect in this world – and it would be our pleasure to recommend you to all of our friends. Deepak was all along a wonderful driver, a good friend and advisor to all of our needs. We were lucky to have him as our driver. Once again we thank you for organizing such a pleasant trip for us. D. Aichbhaumik Dec 12, 2007 Note: # The hotel in Khajuraho should be excellent for stay in. # Unless you are a religious person, exclude Pushkar. This off course is my personal opinion.

10/01/2008 Orchha We are very pleased & fascinated by your organized by your organized travel to India. Starting from the first arrival day, we felt exceptional attitude and care from you and Mr. Deepak especially. Due to very different culture to which we used to. We felt very secure and managed to take as much as possible from all what we saw. We can say nothing more as complements to your organized tour than it was managed and set. We impressed by Mr. Deepak’s professionalism and handling difficult situations on the Indian roads – we feel very safety. His kindness and help in all situations is very appreciated. The service, the hotels and etc is very good and we like it. It’s our first trip and is definitely not the last one. And I can say for 100 percent, it’s the best travel to had and we travel a lot and can compare the service and the price we get from it. We will recommend your agency for our friends. Mindaugas & Agne Ziukas

Near to the end of our trip we would like to say that we are really very content and pleased with the whole arrangements. It was a very good selection of the highlights of architecture and landscape of Rajasthan. We were also satisfied with the choice of accommodation. We would like to emphasize in particular that we were very happy to have had Deepak as our driver, being a very nice and kind person. Not only this he is also an excellent driver maintaining all difficult situations. We wish Liberty India Travel all the best for the future! Many thanks, Erika & Laszlo Trunko.

Galuh Wulan/ Indonesia gwulan@yahoo.com
Dear Mr. Roy, Thank you very much for the trip. I was rather disappointed that I didn’t not start early on Thursday since I was only able to attend Taj Mahal for an hour due to some VIP visit. Big disappointment indeed since the whole purpose of my visit was the Taj Mahal. Another irritating thins is the guide in Agra who wasted my time showing me marbles and jewellery that was not even authentic. The hotels in Jaipur and Delhi was excellent. I enjoyed Nana Ki Haveli (Jaipur) very much. Good dinner and company while there. However the hotel in Agra left me in the dark 4 timed at night due to electricity failure. Overall the trip was interesting and thank you for dropping me off at the City Center Inn in Bohgal at 7:55 pm. Truly appreciate it. Regards, Galuh Sotya Wulan (9/2/2008)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: It gives us much pleasure to write a report for our driver Rajeev. We have been with him now for 11 days; without doubt he has been a major reason for the great enjoyment we have so far experienced in India. As a driver he is an expert. Firstly he is always on time; in fact he is always early. Secondly he manages to driver in a manner that makes us feel safe and confident in his ability to negotiate even the worst traffic conditions and thirdly he is always pleasant, and cheerful with a very engaging sense of humor. As well he is flexible in meting our needs and requests; if we ask him to take us somewhere he replies “No Worries”. Then there are his qualities as a guide, which are exceptional. He knows the routes so well that he can take us to treasures that even the guidebooks don’t know about. Apart from major sight seeing etc. he is constantly pointing out matters of historic, geographic or natural significance and is an expert in finding good spots from which to take photos. He has a very good knowledge also of the restaurants and coffee shops along the way and his recommendations are always a delight. We will be recommending your company and his service to our friends and acquaintances. KEITH STAPLES & WENDY MORRIS

Mr. David N Patten and Mrs. Judith A Wender Buzz81611@aol.com
Mr. David N Patten and Mrs. Judith A Wender ASPEN, COLORADO, USA This was our first trip to India, although we have traveled in other parts of the world. We knew that India may be difficult to us as independent travelers due its size and traffic, so we took a “LEAP OF FAITH” and somehow found your company on the internet. First, I would like to say “Thanks You” to Mrs. Yamini Raghav for her prompt replies to our many questions, and for her overall professionalism. Secondly, we feel so blessed to have had Mr. Deepak as our companion, driver, guide and a friend. He is truly a great asset to your company, and directly contributed to a wonderful Rajasthan experience. As for the hotels, we found them mostly quite satisfactory, some more so than others. I think the only somewhat negative comment I need to make is that we were not very pleased with the guide in Agra. If you would like any more specific comments about any of this, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email. Thank you for providing a wonderful holiday. DAVID N. PATTEN & JUDITH A. WENDER.

Mrs. Sarah Exworth/ UK confusedyes@hotmail.com
We have just finished our excellent trip to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Our driver, Rajeev was very good. He knew precisely where to take us and willing to do extra trips as we asked. Rajeev took us to several places of interest that other tourists go to such as the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. However, he also took us to places off the beats track, which are not known to the larger travel companies. These were very interesting and inexpensive. Rajeev English language was very good and he has very patient during our tour. We will most certainly come again and would want Rajeev to be our driver. We would gladly recommend “Liberty India Travel” and Rajeev to friends, colleagues and potential travelers. Liberty India Travel made all the arrangements for our trip down to the last detail which took all worry and stress out a\of the holiday. We have thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Thanks for everything Rajeev and Roy, and also there at Liberty India Travel. SARAH EXWORTH

The tour was well-planned which enable us to visit important historical places in India., in order to keep the good memories. The driver Mahesh was a great guide & was very helpful & innoauadive, I wish that if we get another opportunity to visit India to see him again & should be accompanied by him. Once again thank you for the tour, we enjoyed it every moment.

Thank you for letting us has Sahi as our driver. He tried his best to please us & oblige us with our wishes. He is relatively safe in his driving & is aware of his responsibilities, as a driver to us. Sahi has a sense of humor & he made the long journeys less tedious, having a joke or two with him. He was always punctual & patient when we were late or stayed at a site longer than we planned to. He was never grumpy with us & our wishes, but positive & happy in his manner. Sahi was always warning us of the dangers & unscrupulous characters at each site. He was obliging in doing little tasks for us like buying bottles of water & dropping us at where we need to stop. Overall, we are very pleased & fortunate to have him as our driver + guide.

Mr. Arrigo Santini/ Italy arrigo.santini@gmail.com
Dear Mr. Roy, We want to thank you because the tour was so fine, well organized and we enjoyed it very much. For what is about the hotels: They were all very nice. All the Four & Five star hotels were excellent. The three star “ FLORENCE INN” IN Delhi is very nice and clean; also its center position is a perfect base to discover the city. The Hotel is Varanasi instead, for the first night they gave us a very disappointed room, for sure not the deluxe suite. After our complain they gave us a better room, but anyway it seems a two stars hotel compared to the Florence Inn. For what about the guides and drivers: (1) Mumbai: The driver Selvin is a special person, very kind and honest and we enjoyed the tour of the city very much. (2) Rajasthan (Jaipur & Agra): the guide in Jaipur was a perfect, very accurate and competent. The one in Agra instead was too superficial and quick, not too good at all. (3) Varanasi: the driver was nice person and he has been useful to help us to catch the train, but he didn’t come with us into any temple and archeological areas. The guide brought us in a silk shop with the excuse to visit a factory. The best one person was absolutely Deepak. Very honest and kind person and a very good driver. For our next trip to India we will want him again. We are happy for the tour. We will recommend LIBERTY INDIA TRAVEL to all our friends and we will contact you again for our next trip in India. Thank you for all – CIAO…. Enrica & Arrigo.
